JANUARY 26th Painting Workshop

TEXTURE, COLLAGE & MIXED MEDIA

Saturday, January 26th, 2013. 11am – 5pm

 

• This all-day workshop focuses on the use of collage and mixed media in the development of varied textures within the painting surface. We will explore different thicknesses of paint, and the use of modeling paste and collage of varied materials, both organic and inorganic. Through these techniques, we discover how the painting becomes a sculptural object in which we can imbed other objects meaningful to us.

  **Required Materials:
  - 36″ x 48″ canvas (we use this large size for the increased physical range of motion and gesture with the arm/hand that it allows)
  - Charcoal, rags, and items for creating texture and collage (colored papers, scraps, phone bills, love notes, leaves, grasses, sand, etc.)
  - All other painting materials provided (brushes, paints, etc.)

This weekend I am participating in SF Open Studios. I will be opening my studio to the public, for two days to exhibit new and past works. Please stop in and pay me a visit.
